Job Description

Are you an experienced IT professional looking to challenge yourself with new opportunities to grow your skills professionally in an energetic environment? University Enterprises, Inc. at Sac State is seeking an IT Manager for the Union WELL Inc.

Working within the University Union and The WELL Recreation Center, our IT team offers a fun, team focused environment where there are many opportunities for growth and opportunities for making a significant impact everyday while working in a diverse and challenging environment.  Every day is different and this is not your typical, monotonous 8 to 5 job!  Steps from the American River Parkway, our employees enjoy a supportive culture and work life balance with amazing benefits.

In the next few months, Union WELL Inc. will begin its first major renovation of the University Union since 1998.  This exciting expansion will add roughly 46,000 additional square feet of meeting, office, and public lounge space, and will include state of the art systems for networking, building management, and AV/presentations. As the central hub for student life on campus, the upcoming expansion will prepare the Union to better serve the campus’s growing population of over 30,000 students.

Additionally, in 2018 the WELL Recreation & Wellness Center will complete its first expansion since original construction in 2010 to add roughly 30,100 additional square feet to include expansion of Student Health and Counseling Services, larger locker room facilities, additional fitness studios, and expanded strength fitness workout space.

Both facility expansion projects will provide opportunities for IT staff to participate and gain experience in the construction process.

University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI), the employer of record for Union WELL Inc., offers an excellent benefits package that includes:

  • Paid Vacation Time (4.8 weeks annually)
  • Paid Sick Time (12 days annually)
  • Paid Holidays (13 days annually) – Inclusive of paid time off for Christmas Day thru New Year’s Day as the CSUS campus is closed.
  • Participation in CalPERS Retirement Program - CalPERS offers a defined benefit plan where retirement benefits are based on a formula, rather than contributions and earnings to a savings plan. Retirement benefits are calculated based on a member's years of service credit, age at retirement, and final compensation (average salary for a defined period of employment).
  • Excellent medical benefits with 100% employer paid medical/dental benefits (depending on coverage level selected)
  • Union WELL Inc. employees receive membership to The WELL Recreation & Wellness Center  totaling approximately 150,000 square feet, housing three fitness studios, a cardio suite, two fitness floors, a multi-activity court, four basketball courts, a rock climbing wall, four racquetball courts, an indoor running track, locker rooms, and conference center.

Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science or related area or equivalent experience. Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining Windows Server 2008/2012 and Ubuntu Server operating systems.  Experience working with database applications and servers, including Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or higher, and MySQL.  Demonstrated experience using web content management systems, the LAMP stack (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP), and Internet Information Services.

The Information Technology (IT) Services Systems Analyst provides significant, daily support to the Manager, Information Technology Services, in the maintenance, management, and implementation of IT systems for the Union Well Inc.  The position reports to, and receives general direction from, the Manager, Information Technology Services. This position provides work direction to part-time IT student assistants.
