Job Description

Cal Poly Pomona “Foundation”, is currently searching for a Assistant Property Manager to work in the Real Estate Department.

Reporting to the Director, Real Estate, Assistant Property Manager will be responsible to work as part of the Real Estate team in all real estate matters, including tenant relations, vendor and contractor oversight, coordination of capital improvements, and interface with the accounting department and other campus and Foundation staff as needed. You will be an integral part of a team responsible for the development and ongoing management of Innovation Village, a 65 acre technology park on the campus, as well as faculty/staff affordable housing program, film locations work at the Campus South property plus management and disposition of gift real estate.


Work environment is engaging and dynamic on the campus of the university. Team environment with emphasis on work-life balance.  Hours are typical Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with periodic after-hours demands as needs arise.  



MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: AA/AS degree in business with a concentration in Finance, Real Estate or Accounting required from an accredited College or University. Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Minimum 4 years of full time work in real estate field within California.  California Real Estate License required.   May substitute AA/AS degree with certification as either a Certified Property Manager or Accredited Resident Manager. 


Must be self-directed.  Intermediate level or proficiency knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel, basic to intermediate knowledge level of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable.  Must be able to read an income statement and balance sheet.  Superior customer service skills. 


Working knowledge of basic real estate law and construction.  Understanding of the application and use of residential and commercial lease language.  Understanding and knowledge of residential real estate sales process and related documentation.   




  • This is a full time, full benefited, exempt position, primarily a Mon. - Fri. work schedule, but will need to work as the experiments require. 
  • Starting salary $45,860.00 – $75,993.00 annually DOE
