Job Description

University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) at Sac State is seeking a Facilities Services Coordinator for The University Union Operation of CSUS, Inc. (Union WELL Inc.).  Union WELL Inc. is an auxiliary of California State University, Sacramento, and is a California 501(c) 3 Not for Profit Corporation. The Corporation consists of, and operates, two buildings, the University Union, and The Well (the University’s recreation and wellness center).

Rate of Pay:  $3,639 to $5,095 per month

Position Overview: The Facilities Services Coordinator is primarily responsible for assuring that all custodial services meet the requirements of the executed agreement in both the University Union and The WELL facilities. This position also interfaces and coordinates with outside service vendors, campus relationships, capital equipment acquisitions, repair and replacement efforts, facility cut key/electronic access, and project planning for the Facilities and Information Technology (I.T.) department. This position reports to and receives general supervision and direction from the Director of Information Technology and Facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities: Inspects both the University Union and The WELL facilities on a daily and weekly basis and reviews the findings with applicable staff and management of each facility. Monitors and ensures optimum building cleanliness along with required cleaning standards. Schedules monthly facility walk-throughs with custodial site supervisor to review cleaning standards, projects, equipment, and deficiencies. Documents all findings for follow up. Assures that the custodial contractor fulfills the requirements of the executed agreement and ensures that facilities remain clean and free of safety hazards. Ensures that contracted services provided are cost efficient and within the terms of the contract. Coordinates and schedules contractor or vendors for ongoing regular and special project cleaning, takes into consideration semester break times, special events, and academic year preparation requirements. Responsive to customers, staff, and campus feedback and ensures custodial needs are being met; communicates regularly with stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, business administration or a related field or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience. Demonstrated experience in the use of proper methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial services in large multi-use facilities. Demonstrated knowledge of code requirements related to buildings, health, safety, access and proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.  Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of planning, developing, and the estimating of time, materials, and staff needs for budgeting and project management. Demonstrated skills in strategic planning as well as budget and contract management. Demonstrated ability to managing multiple vendors and large contractors. Knowledge of project and facility management. Ability to manage and coordinate multiple facility projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience working with commercial access control system. Demonstrated experience working in Student Union or Recreation Facilities. Experience working with Microsoft Project or similar project planning software.
