Supporting Sustainability—a CSU Commitment to the Future
In 2014, the California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees adopted the first systemwide Sustainability Policy to integrate sustainability into all areas of the CSU—academics, facilities, the built environment, and student life.
At all 23 CSU campuses, sustainability requires using resources in an environmentally, socially, and economically responsible way. It’s a core value implemented in a wide range of practices and programs. Through this commitment, the result has been a saving of resources, reduction of environmental impact, and expansion of educational opportunities as the CSUs incorporate new technology and innovative practices.
