Issue Brief – Auxiliary Board Emergency Powers, Meetings and Actions by Robert E. Griffin

All CSU auxiliary organizations in good standing are also nonprofit public benefit corporations chartered under the California law (NPBL).  The NPBL includes important default provisions on Board teleconferencing and emergency meetings and corporate actions.  This Issue Brief by Robert Griffin analyzes key meetings and action aspects for auxiliary organizations (other than student body organizations) in relation to the Seymour Act open meeting law.

What AOA Does

The members that make up the Auxiliary Organizations Association (AOA) are the auxiliaries of the 23 campuses in the California State University (CSU) system. The mission of the AOA is to facilitate the role of individual auxiliaries on their respective campuses by providing the auxiliaries with the resources and services that enable them to be more effective.
