This is a part-time (20 hours per week), temporary position with funding through June 30, 2027.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Outreach/Recruitment and Internship Program Specialist will provide strong organizational and administrative support to the Department of Social Work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate strong organizing, collaborative, and oral and written communication skills.
Collaborate on preparing a field practicum manual that delineates policies and procedures related to field practicum education. Assist in ensuring compliance with all CSWE field practicum education accreditation standards. Assist with recruiting, screening, developing, evaluating, and retaining field practicum sites and field instructors at the generalist and advanced generalist sites. Create and oversee the process of collecting contracts signatures with field practicum sites.
Assist with coordinating and conducting introductory field practicum site visits with county and community members. Assist on organizing administration activities for field practicum education. Maintain the field practicum directory and field database which includes current agency information and agency documentation compliance (Cal State S4). Assist with developing, scheduling, planning, and supporting field practicum education projects and activities. Prepare, complete, and maintain report, files and documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Assist developing recruitment and outreach plans. Maintains a prospect list and reports of prospective students within the tri-county area. Provides support and assistance to prospective and incoming students.
Assist in coordinating and facilitating outreach activities reaching a diverse and underrepresented rural community. Assist in developing and facilitating informational session in local communities, professional conferences, and public or nonprofit agencies. Participate in staff career fairs providing career education information to attendees and county employees. Assist developing and preparing departmental and program marketing materials.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Establishes and maintains an atmosphere of excellent internal and external customer service within the program, campus and local community and on the national level. Collaborates with other departmental staff as needed. Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

WORK LOCATION
Hybrid Position- 80% minimum in-office/on-site following the initial training period. Position location may change based on CSU expectations and department needs
Work Location: CSUMB Main Campus, 100 Campus Center, Seaside, CA
Work assignment locations are at the sole discretion of CSUMB and may be changed or revoked at any time.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position include:
Experience in fully functional execution of all technical aspects of work assignments.
Thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling, as well as office systems and a wide range of technology, systems, and software packages. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
The ability to: Quickly acquire a thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Make sound independent decisions and recommendations based on current policies, procedures, and a comprehensive analysis of current situations. Independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects under strict deadlines. Effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal contacts, including those at the highest level and those requiring strict confidentiality. Apply a wide variety of policies and procedures, even in situations where specific guidelines may not exist. Calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections. Draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.
Demonstrate the ability to address the essential functions associated with this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the CSUMB Vision Statement and the core values of mutual respect, collaboration and service orientation, multiculturalism and diversity, community service and institutional excellence.Prior experience in social work. Social work experience working with diverse populations. Experience in working with interprofessional settings. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail (including Calendar and Docs), Internet browsers. Highly motivated and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to address the essential functions associated with this position including the knowledge and abilities identified above
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
The person holding this position is considered a “mandated reporter” under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the University Corporation. Special License or Certifications and Conditions:
This position will have responsibilities that require the employee to possess a license, credential or other certification in order to meet minimum job qualifications and/or to qualify for continued employment.

Must possess and maintain a valid license to drive in the State of California, pass the Defensive Training Class, and be insurable under the University’s liability coverage.

The hourly rate for this position is $38.46. This is a non-exempt position and as such is eligible for the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
