University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) at Sacramento State is seeking an Applications Developer (PFAS) for Office of Water Programs.
Office of Water Programs (OWP) (www.owp.csus.edu) is an internationally recognized provider of training materials in a variety of media, as well as a source of engineering and scientific research that fills the niche between academia and consulting engineering. Our team of nearly 50 professionals, trained in a variety of academic disciplines, collaborates to produce high-caliber work that furthers our mission to provide cost-effective solutions for protecting and enhancing water resources, public health, and the environment through training, scientific research, and public education. OWP is a self-supported academic center located at Sacramento State.
RATE OF PAY: $5,190 – $7,785 per month

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time, temporary up to 1 year, non-exempt (eligible for overtime pay), benefited position that is covered under the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. Continued employment in this position is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises and the employee, and either University Enterprises or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
2. Demonstrated proficiency in web application development.
3. Proficiency with React.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and CSS.
4. Proficiency with Flask, SQL Alchemy, and Python.
5. Proficiency with relational database administration (SQL Server preferred).
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, interpersonal skills, and skills to effectively function as part of a team.
7. Ability to work well as part of a small development team.
8. Demonstrated experience working with and maintaining sensitive, confidential information.
9. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
10. Ability to prioritize assignments and see projects through to completion.
11. Must pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting. Must continue to meet the established standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience working with research environmental scientists.
2. Experience working in state grant funded web application development projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position collaborates with the Information Technology (IT) and Research departments on various specialized application development projects. Additionally, it provides support for the maintenance of the Office of Water Programs (OWP) website and internal data processing applications. The position reports directly to and receives general supervision from the Associate Director of Research or their designee.
The specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Collaborates with applications developers and research engineers in the implementation of new software, often for web-based applications.
2. Develops Full-Stack web applications using React.js, TypeScript, Flask, SQL Alchemy Python, and Tailwind CSS.
3. Designs and administers advanced SQL Server databases using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 20.
4. Develops T-SQL reports and web interfaces to support environmental science research.
5. Maintains and troubleshoots existing Full-Stack PHP, React.js, and ASP applications and SQL Server databases.
6. May supervise undergraduate students.
7. Undertakes additional programming projects as directed.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Note: This position vacancy is with University Enterprises Inc., an auxiliary organization of California State University, Sacramento. This is not a University position; the incumbent will be an employee of University Enterprises.
